That's an idea.

Blastwave has already installed stuff that duplicates what Sun already  
has, and some packages are quite old.

I don't mind compiling the packages, so I'll have to try that.

How well does it work with zones?  Any special support for installing  
packages only in a zone instead of globally, and that sort of thing?
