We just paid the "book" bill for my son's Catholic high school.
My wife came back with a bag of stuff, smaller than a bag of
fast food.  $275.  $150 for "insurance" for his laptop,
$35 network fee and the list goes on.  BTW, we had to buy the
laptop from them so it is "properley configured" for their 
network. $2200(!) for a crappy IBM (T40 or T50 series, I 
forget which).  His PSP gets on their network with no problem.
What a rip off!  My wife won't let me go to any parent meetings,
you can guess why.  Problem is that the high school in my town 
is so bad that they are not accredited.  They have nothing for
the average student and far less for the above average student.
In other words, a war zone.  So we're stuck paying for piddley
things like $5 nurse fee, $15 guidence councelor fee, $250 fund-
raising fee.  

I don't get paid, I just hold it for the next guy. :)

Sorry about the rant but tomorrow I have to go through two days 
of workshops and orientation (bueraucratic BS) before I actually
meet the kids. It will be interesting how they screw with my
schedule this time.  :)
