"
" feeling stupid.
"
" just set nfs up between to s8 sparcs on my home net. the mount is fine
" but i can't list directories, though i can list individual files.
"
" i'm not using automounter yet, and i'm not mounting nobrowse afaik.
"
" i've done all this before many times. i know i'm overlooking something
" simple!

more data: df shows the mount, and as i said i can ls a file. but if
i try to ls a directory or a wildcard, i get a looong silence, then
NFS server SERVER not responding still trying
followed by more silence.
it's acting like nobrowse, but this is a direct hard mount and there's
no place to specify or unspecify this behavior on either the server or
client.

server [192.168.100.200]:
# share -F nfs -o nosuid,rw=@192.168.100.192/26,root=@192.168.100.192/26,anon=-1 -d "export" /export
# showmount -ade
export list for SERVER:
/export @192.168.100.192/26
CLIENT:/export/install/patches

client [192.168.100.201]:
# mount -F nfs -o nosuid SERVER:/export/install/patches /export/install/patches
# /usr/ucb/df -Fnfs
Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity Mounted on
SERVER:/export/install/patches
		     12573189 5107393 7340065 42% /export/install/patches

anyone have an idea what i'm missing?
