Is the Java book any good?  Cymru's been pressing me to learn Java, but
the one Java book I've tried so far is ... well, frankly, not to mince
words, for me it sucked.  It'd probably be fine as an accompaniment to a
class, but as a standalone book I found it almost useless.  I can't tell
you what it was, unfortunately; it's already packed.
