I'd recommend Prevx.  It removed some malware that we got on one of
the 'doze gaming machines at home, with no reboots to safe mode, no
registry hacking, nothing.  It's free for 30days (full capabilities).

I recommend it to folks I know are having problems, but for whom I do
not wish to be button-holed as their "computer expert".  Walking ppl
through registry hackery is not my idea of fun--and they are willing
to pay for software but not my time, so it works out.

I discovered Prevx quite by accident on a forum frequented by a lot of
UK & European folks; it doesn't appear to be known by many folks in
the US.
