Y'know, what you people are actually disagreeing over is not Second
Life; it's what a "game" is.  Second Life is just the example at hand
of something that falls inside some of your "game"s and outside others'.

Where do I stand?  SL is a "game" to me.  I'm not sure why I take that
stance; I'm having trouble elucidating just what a game is to me, and
I'm glad I read this, because it's making me think about that.  I also
co-run a mud; I consider it a "game" too.  It shares many of SL's
relevant attributes.  You could say I consider it a game despite that,
or because of that; each would be partially correct.
