this is a well known issue with the refresh counter. pc66 and pc100
are compatible but as chips started getting larger pc133 added an
extra refresh bit.
for 256m pc133, you have to look for 'low density' sticks [or 'pc100
compatible' - duh] that have smaller ram chips on both sides. they
are out there - i have a pair of just such sodimms in this notebook.
