There is no spare room in that case - I know, I have one by my desk.
It has an air shroud that brings in cool air fron the case front and directs it over the MB. My problem with that case, and it is the only one, is that they should include a really long IDE cable, since many MBs have their IDE headers on the far side of the board, and that case is TALL (in comparison to your average mid tower case)...
My machine has 1x DVD burner, 1x 80 Gig IDE OS drive, and 4x 250 Gig SATA drives. And it is quiet. Not silent, but quiet.
I don't think you could really cool that many devices in a smaller case without profound airflow. This case was designed to big MBs, up to EATX size.
They also make a mid-tower workstation "Super Server" that has the MB pre-installed. It is nice too (built a box up for $JOB-1 based on that system)...
