For those who missed it - Sun introduced a new CPU yesterday (7 Aug., 2007), the UltraSPARC T2 CPU:

 - 8 Cores, 64 Threads of execution
 - dual 10 Gb/sec Ethernet on the chip
 - one Crypto unit per core (8 per chip)
 - PCI Express expansion built-in
 - uses 95-125 Watts power

Sounds like a nice core for my next desktop ;^)
