I connected the 4 and 5 pins on the SUN side and it still did
not work. I figured then I would either build a new cable with db25
on both ends or buy a 25 pin null modem and a gender converter.
I decided on the latter and it worked fine. Perhaps the problem
was with the terminal or the cable but at least I got it working.

Incidentally, it was no easy task to find a place that had the
null modem cable in 25 pin form. Most people are using 9 pin
evidently.
