Isn't the 4000 a software-routed model?  I try to use 
hardware-accelerated models for as much as I can.  Right now I'm using a 
7505.  The VIP cards for it still use software to route between the two 
port adapters, but the core of the router is hardware-accelerated.

The 7200VXR is a software-based model, but still fetches a good chunk of 
change.
