And that was a key turning point in the fight for conceal carry in
the State of Texas.  She testified before the state legislature and
swayed a lot of opinions.  Then govenor Ann Richards announced that she
would veto any CHL bills that came to her desk.  When she came up for
re-election against George W. Bush, he said he'd sign the bill.  The
people elected him, and in 1995, he did.
