It hung my 10.4 system when I installed it. I had to reinstall MacOS to
get it to boot. A driver is incorporated in 10.4. anyway. It does not
support the mode that disk drives use. Read the fine print. :-(

That's normal for VIA, they often exaggerate the capability of their
chips and drivers.
