Not scarce, but very dangerous. Operator training and insurance and all.
My cableco got in a pissing contest with the telco because they each cut the
others cables back and forth a few times as they trenched. I finally had to
dig the damn trench myself and now most of the phone and cable lines are
laying on top of forest litter above ground (I only trenched for about 40 feet
of conduit). Cable and telco both insisted I had to pay $2000.00 to have a
conduit laid to the pedestals. Screw that.
