The dual-core Opteron 1xx chips are Socket-939 while the single-core
Opteron 1xx chips are Socket-940. Athlon64 is Socket-939.
L2 cache differences are secondary; while the Opteron has 1MB L2, so do
certain Athlon64 models.
Additionally the Socket-939 Opterons aren't as picky about the memory
they work with - IIRC the S940 single-core Opteron 1xx series require
registered memory while the S939 dual-core Opteron 1xx series do not.
