i understood it to be a complete posix env, incl x11, shells, utils,
etc. ~6 years ago, $work-3 was planning to move a major medical
product line from unix to interix because the customer base wanted
commodity hardware and a 'standard' os. i was told it was a
straightfwd porting job.
