However, I'm not sure a Solaris PeeCee is any better than a Linux
PeeCee.

Every time I've tried Solaris x86, it was markedly inferior to Linux and
NetBSD.  Buggy, unstable, and with little driver support (especially
video).

I didn't try Solaris 9 or the 10 betas, because I've been burned to
the point where I just didn't want to fuss with it.  7 and 8 was just
terrible on the PC.

Even on my Sun hardware, I run NetBSD instead of Solaris.  A lot of that
is due to the age of my hardware.  NetBSD is less weight for an old SS5
to carry.

I'd like to have one, period.

I still like the Origins though, and hope one of these days I can afford
to pick up an Orign 200 to play with.  Nothing like the ones I used to
have at work, but enough for me to do real work with.

I don't think anyone else was ever serious about it though.
