I debated going to the hamfest ro getting to TCF early and trying to shed mylast rack... in the end, the Hamfest won out, to great effect ;^)

Of course, I still had to bring that fargin' rack home - it is going out in the next "big pickup" - it is too rough for me to use (rust, holes, etc.), esp. when I have my nice rack ready for setup, once I clean The Pit (basement) ;^)

The U5 is going great now - I've ordered 2x 128 Meg DIMMs to take it to 512 Meg (Sun's website indicates that 4x same DIMMs improve performance, or I would have gone for two 256 Meg DIMMs and pulled out the floppy drive. I got SOlaris 9 installed, companion CD installing as I left this morning, and I reconfiged the framebuffer to 1024x768x75 at 24 bit depth using the m64config command,a s well as "eeprom output-device=screen:r1024x768x75" to set the console the same.

There is a site that explained it all to me, www.netsys.com - lots of good info there...
