that fits with my theory: if you want good drives, go to a computer
co.  ibm makes puters.  fujitsu makes puters.  maxtor doesn't; wd
doesn't.

dec drives were good.  top-end seagates are good - but then, that's
the former cdc disk operation.

my logic?  putermakers -use- their drives.  they learn first-hand the
value of quality.
