Just caught on to this... glad to hear the near miss is over. I know I'd
be worried if we lost one of the dogs, but the only thing keeping our
beagle alive is her fear of _everything_.

He'd have shown up sooner or later -- I don't think anyone could afford to
feed him. Maybe you should have put up a empty dog food bag as a flag to
others... How much is it he eats again?
