You and me both.  :)  And hey, if I want to install MySQL with threads
support under /opt/mysql, install Perl-5.8.1 with ithreads support, then
install PHP4 with MySQL support and Apache with a threaded mod_ssl, hey,
Slackware just lets me do it.  And perhaps most important of all, if I
want to frob some low-level configuration file by hand to do something
highly specific and slightly unusual, I don't have to worry about the
possibility of some punk-ass point-and-drool GUI configuration console
coming along and stabbing my carefully hand-crafted configuration in the
back next time someone fires it up to do something totally unrelated.
