What could Sun do to fix things up a bit?

The quarterly release is a good idea.

I'd say that a really good open source effort- targeting BOTH sun and
intel hardware, would help- Linux? or BSD?  I think that from a
technical point of view, BSD would be a better choice.

Fixing storage should be a really high prioroty.

and more decent single unit servers?-  2 cpus and 2 scsi busses, with
dual ethernet and 'enough' drive bays.
