I have an HP IIP printer I found on the street, and it used to work
fine (but slow 4 ppm, IIRC ;^), now I get "12 no ep or open" error
message. THis site says 99% of the time, it is a bad density control
board. Their repair kit is $40, incl. instructional video.

If I knew I was $40 away from a good printer, I might do it - but to
invest $40 in a 13 year old printer, just to walk it out to the curb
would make me sad...

Thoughts?

I feel bad enough that I am probably going to throw away two Lexmar
Valuewriter 300 printers, due to lack of toner! :^(
