Hi Lads

A small provincial NZ company who specialises in vending machine technology
recently got bought out by Coca Cola. At the time of the aquisition they
were developing a largish backend application on Solaris/Oracle.

Coca Cola said "No! Windows NT is the platform of choice. Get rid of all
that Sun rubbish and put in some _real_ servers." [1]

Where is this leading...?

I just scored a complete and 'as-new' 8 month old SunFire 280r server with
a single 900MHz/8MB USIII, 2GB of RAM, 36GB FCAL disk, redundant PSU, DVD,
rack mounting kit, dual channel Ultra SCSI controller, and transferrable
Solaris license. All this for 1,742USD!!!!! (plus 12.5% sales tax). This is
what - 15% of the Sun list price?

Yes I suck. You may may now begin to hate me :-P

Regards,

Gavin

[1] Well maybe I'm embellishing a little :-)
