Of course i'm sure every mobo manufacturer has had at least a
few customer complaints before, but i for one will never buy
another Gigabyte mobo.
I bought a 6BXDU (if i remember the model number correctly)
back in 1999. Cost was around $450. Bought one of the first
GeForce cards in 2000 and it would not work in that machine,
Found out later that that mobo, and a few others form Gigabyte
didn't fully support the AGP spec. They didn't supply the
correct voltage. I went to look for a support number to call
and found none, just an email address to some tech support
people who took a week to respond and who were no help in the
end.
Found a mod (from a complete third party) for the motherboard
to correct the problem about a year later. Gigabyte said it
supported AGP, and it didn't. I expected a refund or a fix
and all i got was a few late emails saying in essence, we
can't help you.
