Losing dollars, no.  However, losing my gun and having it used in the 
commission of another crime, yes.  *If* someone manages to surprise me, 
and gets a gun in my face, I can tell you now that I will react swiftly 
and without pause.  I won't say I'll prevail, but I sure as hell ain't 
going without a fight.  And one this is for sure, the criminal is 
goddam well going to be surprised by me.

I forget where I saw that quote, it was in an email that I've deleted - 
however I cannot find it, so I withdraw the statement.

You're not familiar with close quarters defense tactics?  There are 
methods of evasion and defense that work well in this situation.  Are 
they 100% effective?  No.  But I like the odds better when I have some 
input....
