Well, it depends.

Some people actually run an OS on their PC instead of MS' dos extensions 
called windows. They buy pc's because they're cheap.

So stability might be an issue. besides, much of the sun ide stuff (hd, 
cdrom) are just rebranded from whatever pc brand you care to name. and sold 
for 10 times the price. 

All the sayings about pc's be crap might hold ground, and after all pc's are 
pretty boring yes - but otoh I have yet to see one test case comparing 100 
pc's to 100 low-end suns and see hoow many are broken after 5 years :-)
