I believe a R14k 600 is the current top of the line processor for
Octane2s (maybe they have a faster mhz version, I don't know), and V10
is a step down from top of the line, so I'd imagine we might be talking
about $30k new.  Or was that number for a dual proc machine...  I'm not
sure.  It was recently mentioned in comp.*.sgi.* where there * mean I'm
not sure what was there.

Don't know about refurbed of off lease.  They aren't advertising the
prices on those on their web site.  The highest they have on their web
site was a dual r12k with SE for $6k, or a single r12k with MXE for
$5k.  But those are Octanes, not Octane2s, so certainly not upgradeable
enough. 

I do see that a nifty Onyx2 8 proc r12k machine and IR2 is only $35k.
That would be a nice little piece of kit to pick up.  I wonder with the
digital video option would add to it.  I'm afraid to inquire about what
the HD option would add to it.
