Quartz Extreme kinda requires OpenGL. 8-)

You're looking at a GeForce 2MX or Mac Radeon PCI.  Runs around $100 for
the Radeon PCI.  The Radeon Mac Edition is the original card, the Radeon
7000 is the "current" card you can buy.
