Once I was at the junk yard. I saw somthing knowen lurking out of a
dumpster. I jumped into the dumpster, dived and rescued a Sun 3/160 CPU
board. Some chips where already pulled out, it was bent under a load of
other PCBs, it was wett and rusty more or less everywhere... I took it
home, gave it a warm shower, cleaned it with a brush, dried it for some
days, filed in the missing chips, pluged it into a Sun 3/x60 VME box,
fliped the power switch and it worked at the first attempt.

So rust isn't necessarily a sign of death.
