Many, many, many, many years ago, in a land far away, I was taught by my
gradeschool english teacher that "Ms." is the correct salutation. 
"Miss" denotes a young woman, typically a child or teenager.  "Mrs."
(Missus) is only used for married women.  "Ms." (pronounced 'mizz') is
proper when addressing women of all marital status and all age.
