Just read the current Dr Dobbs. They did ISO conformance testing of a bunch
of C++ compilers. In particular, GCC 2.95.something, 2.96, 3.0.4, Visual
C++ 6.0, Borland something or other, and MIPSPro 7.3.something
Interestingly, they found GCC 3.0.4 to be the most compliant.
This is usually a pretty thorough magazine, but there was something worrying
about the article. They said that they tested Visual C++ and Borland on
Windows, and that the rest of the testing was done on linux and Solaris. Now,
how the hack do you test MIPSPro on Linux and/or Solaris?
