Well, I installed fetchmail from the ports collection and have to say that
I'm pretty impressed - this thing seems to Just Work!  The only quirk was
setting the batch size to 10 so that exim didn't choke when a day's worth
of [geeks] messages were passed through it.  ;-)  I think the best part is
that this feels like the right way to do this, I don't feel like I'm using
some nasty kludge that'll come crashing down on me when I least expect.

Now to figure out how to change the rewriting rules on the fly...
