I researched this... There are things you can do with a wireless
access point tranceiver and an old primestar dish that can extend
the range to somewhere between 5-10 Mi. (line-of-sight). The problem
is that the closest friend I have that might even consider getting
involved in this is > 30 Mi. away, with _many_ trees between us. :-(
