i've found that things here have about a 6-7 month 'shelf-life'. he gets
stuff in and the stuff he's gonna use he'll generally use within a week,
otherwise it sits on a shelf in the garage for 7 months until the shelf
becomes an impossible teetering mountain and then he starts purging to
make more room for new and exciting stuff. so there's always the same
amount of stuff in the garage, its just constantly going in and out.

not that i'm complaining--i like having a minimalistic house (outside of
the garage). it's very tranquil.
