All true. Most likely it was belt-driven, as direct drive would cause
all sorts of problems. Anyway, I haven't had time to really look for
one lately. Can't afford it at the moment anyway. I just got the
desire to get one not too long ago, and it's scheduled behind a good
drill press and a good table saw. So many tools I want....
