Yep - I used to do this with my scanner.  However, if its bus-powered
devices, unless your keyboard is hanging off a *powered* hub, it most
likely wont have enough juice.

This works:

mac -> kb -> scanner (since scanner is AC powered)

this doesent work:

mac -> kb -> USB Zip drive  (says "not enough power)

Powered Hubs are Good (tm).
