Heavy loaded network? 10 or 100 or 1000 MBit / s???
Think about (Free|Net|Open)BSD (i.e. a non-Linux OS) on a Alpha, SPARC,
Mac, ... (i.e. non PeeCee hardware.) => Security by obscurity is always
a litle advantage. Hmmm. Is there a packet filter for OpenVMS/Alpha? :-)
