I'll tell you what's working with my 13-year-old....

None of the winblowz `puters have net access.

If he wants to surf, research on the net, IM w/ his buddies, etc, he has to 
use one of the `NIX boxen.  He seems to prefer my RH box.

I'm quite satisfied with the amount of exploring and futzing he has done 
within his account on the box.
