In addition to a lot of the other sites that have already had a mention...

For Unix-y geek news and content I tend to check www.rootprompt.org and
www.librenix.com on a daily basis.

http://film.guardian.co.uk for film news and reviews. Occasionally Aint It
Cool News for film news too but I loathe the quality of reporting, it's
worse than a (bad) school newspaper at times.
