For Christmas, my parents got a Toshiba DVD changer, and replaced mine
with it (someone gave them a new one knowing that before long I'd take
mine with me anyway).

OMG.  The old DVD player (an Apex) was a major upgrade from the Creative
Labs DXR2 in a PC hooked to the TV system.  It's picture was sharper,
etc.

But this Toshiba provides much nicer colors than the Apex did, by far.
I love this machine.  I'm blown away.  Blacks are really black now.  I
didn't know that was possible.
