My datapoints are that they Just Work in everything from VIA to Sun
chipsets on pretty-much everything from Windows to Linux to BSD.  Of
course, I can say the same thing for the 3com 3c905 series cards.

BTW, aren't the modern Intel EtherPro chipsets somehow descended from
the Tulip chipsets?
