Those used leaf springs for suspension, didn't they.  Would it be
possible to upgrade to coil springs, and would that provide much
improvement?  Also, what about lightening it.  Say by using lighter
aftermarket bucket seats, replacing the hood and trunk with fiberglass
ones, etc.
