I just tripped over a very interesting game called No One Lives
Forever.  Then to make it even more interesting, I noticed that it isn't
that old, and they have released the source code already.  The downside
is that the source code requires DirectX8 (which probably means they are
using Direct3D which makes porting to linux very difficult).
Although... Further digging reveals that the released version only
requires DirectX7, so that makes it sounds like they aren't going to be
using the DirectX8 shaders...  I doubt I'm really up to porting it.  But
it does look like such a nifty game, and I always like seeing code
released.
