Here in France the main ISP France Telecom use PPoA for Adsl connexions.
The kit provides software for W**dows and MacOs,
and there are tools to get a Linux box connected.
works fine on all these platforms.

what is PPPoA? i've never seen that used with DSL. PPPoE i've seen.

is just silly. PPP tunneled over ethernet which is being bridged over ATM.
