Oh yeah, I had one of those years in '96. My fiancee killed herself, my
house burned down, my car blew up, and my grandfather died. Very bad year.

Well this is her thrid time around with it. We'll see how things go. If
anyones tough enough to beat it it's her.

Ireland is having what you might call a crisis of confidence right now. The
economy is still in very good shape, but people are getting nervous so they
stop spending as much money, which of course makes the economy slow down a
bit, which makes people more nervous... you know the whole vicious circle
thing.
I personally wont get the ax unless the whole thing goes under since I'm the
core of the company. I designed all the service offerings, write all the
policies and procedures, manage all the techies etc... etc... but our
managing director has decided to step down to save his salary and benefits
and we will be directly managed by the director of the surviving JV partner.
My new girlfriend wants me to move to Austin when she does at the beginning
of the year. I'm seriously starting to think about it. I really like
Ireland, but I dont know if I like the situation I'm in right now. Things
will have to develop further before I really know.
