Hehe, my lot know that mailing lists take up a fair chunk of my day but I
think they also appreciate that they are, in some respects, work related.
SunHELP and lurking here listening to the sad geeky conversations ;) can be
very educational.

There's another couple of high-ish volume lists I'm on with local friends
I've known for years and most of us are techies of some form or another. I'm
their psuedo unix/Windows helping-guy, if I ever need any web development or
proper programming they owe me big-time. :)

In terms of the recession in IT at the moment we're probably fairly immune
(touch wood). We provide internet facing services for Companies House in the
UK, we don't have to worry about business models in quite the same way that
"traditional" .coms do and our major client is as stable as most.

And I've been here a while so I do occasionally come up with a good idea or
some prior knowledge that must make keeping me on worthwhile. :)

Will.
