An omnivore isn't a carnivore. Eating the large quantities of meat that
is eaten in the Western world isn't particularly healthy --- we (well,
not me) eat far more meat than we ever have excluding the extremely
wealthy (look at the health of Medieval kings), and when we were all
hunter gatherers (who didn't live to a ripe old age).

There's been a large enough number of vegetarians for a large enough
number of years for it to be known that it isn't an especially
unhealthy or dangerous way to live.

Maybe it ain't "natural", but doing unnatural things is the human way.

Can't remember the details, but there's a group of vegans that have
been living that way for thousands of years and who survive by the very
small amount of insect parts that can be found in the rice they eat :-)

Keep an eye on the market ... organic beef over here fetches a premium.
