[geeks] LCD help

sadly, my laptop has recently passed away. dead. completely. HP wants 4x
its value to get it repaired. it isn't worth what i paid for it ($0) let
alone 4x its "value". it's a piece of crap. it was free, it served me well
for almost a year. not bad for a free piece of crap.

anyway, i've pulled it apart, to "recycle" it. mostly i'm looking to sell the
bits that do work (and are useful) in an attempt to help offset the cost of
a new computer (the kind that is in a big box and sits under my desk, not the
lapop kind), but on the other hand, it'd like to give a shot at playing with
some of the bits. well, one of the bits to be exact.

i am holding in my hands (well, it's laying on my desk, i _AM_ typing after all)
an LCD panel made by Hitachi. it has a blue connector with 28 wires coming out
of it. now. how do i drive this thing? obviously i can't just toss it on a
video card, it needs to be "driven" i believe? i really don't know anything
about stuff like this. anyone have any clue? i'd really like to hook it up to
one of my Sun boxes, but that may be a long shot.

let me know if any of you know anything about LCD panels!!

here are all the details:

Hitachi
TX36D81VC1CAB
9114H	17799 (in a box)
Rev; B

cheers,
