I don't think it's the Texan in you - I've never stepped foot in TX.
However, I was raised in OH - by a family raised in WV and PA.  True
Appalachian peoples...

Theres a very cool bb pistol built along the lines of the Walther PPK
(yeah - the James Bond gun).  I don't recall who makes it.  As far as I
remember, it uses an 8-shot rotary magazine, standard CO2 carts, and is made
to exacting standards.  It's actually made to duplicate, in weight and
operation, the real PPK - right down to a slide that cycles with each shot.
You'll pay for the quality though - roughly $120 last I saw them.

You can always get the run-of-the-mill pellet pistols for ~$35 to $50
though.
